Red cloth, gilt-stamped lettering & portrait illustration on front, frontis. ills., 266pp with woodcut type illustrations. Laid-in is a clipping from the Aug 16, 1963, Kansas City Star entitled "Quantrill's Raid on Lawrence 100 Years Ago" by Albert H. Hindman with color illustration by Cornelius M. Ismert. Spine slightly cocked, ends bumped, boards lightly bowed, small pea-sized dark spot on front near top edge, corners very lightly bumped, small label with number affixed to front free endpaper, text crisp & clean and quite pliable.
