1 Hoy, Jim and Tom Isern Plains Folk: A Commonplace of the Great Plains
Norman & London University of Oklahoma Press 1987 0806120649 / 9780806120645 First Edition Hard Cover Fine Near Fine Don Johnson Signed & Inscribed By Author
Light brown cloth, dark brown-stamped lettering on spine, xiv, frontis. map, 200pp, names and subject indexes, incl. several original full page sketches in b/w. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED on the title page: "3/25/88 Best to Margaret Deaver, in Kansas City. Thanks! Tom Isern" The book was acquired from the estate of Margaret Deaver, Wichita children's storyteller, librarian and book reviewer. It appears nearly flawless with just a hint of a bump to spine top; appears unread. Dust jacket front panel has a reproduction of one of the book illustrations, has a light bump & tiny colorchipping to spine top; bright & clean. The authors explore the culture of The Great Plains, one of four great grasslands of the world, and seek out its uniquenesses as well as its commonalities with other folk regions.
