Yellow cloth, black lettering, viii, 244pp, plus one page list of all the Perry Mason novels to date and a one page list of the other Gardner mysteries. Spine cocked, ends bumped & rubbed with a small split in spine top and another at top of front hinge, boards have been varnished, usual library markings on inside, no markings on the exterior but is still a rather rough looking copy. Dust jacket is rubbed on edges, has a crease down the center of the spine panel, chipping on spine ends and an old repair on backside across top with brown tape which has some show-through on back panel, which repair includes a thumbnail-size triangular tear on front top edge, protected in a new Gaylord archival clear plastic cover.

Blue/gray cloth w/burgundy lettering on spine, 245 pp. Spine sharply cocked, ends bumped & rubbed with 1'' splits down both hinges at top, corners lightly bumped & tips rubbed to boards, rather large spotty label-lift colorchipping on front cover at top near hinge, binding a bit weak with front hinge broken at endpapers but firmly attached, DJ flap affixed to ffep, pages tight, reasonably crisp, offwhite, edges faded, usual library markings.
