A Saga of the Prairie. Light greenish beige cloth, gilt-stamped lettering on spine, xxii, 465pp. Dust jacket front panel is original artwork of close-up of prairie grass, cloudy sky in background. Original "Harper Blue Ribbon Book" label affixed to front, wrapping onto spine, with No. 8333A indicated on flaps. Book appears unread, square, crisp, clean, with sharp corners; has a very faint acid oxidation tab ghost on top edge of front free endpaper, apparently from tape on a previous dust jacket cover. Dust jacket has tinyest chip on front hinge top, lightly agetoned with a bit of light rubbing on plain white back panel, front panel bottom corner is clipped but price remains at top corner, protected in a new Gaylord archival clear plastic cover. "Giants in the Earth is a moving narrative of pioneer hardship and heroism, told with such obvious veracity that it makes almost all other tales of the Western frontier seem cheap."
